Highlander has commenced delivery of 20 radars and other electronic equipment for a surveillance network in Zhejaing Province. The network, destined mainly for fisheries law enforcement, features unique signal processing able to find small, illusive vessels and objects.

Detection is achieved automatically by virtue of intelligent computer-based target tracking.

The radar system supports a wide range of additional functionalities such as oil spill detection, wave measurement, integration of day/night camera and AIS (automatic identification system). Even underwater detection sensors can be added in the future.

The new radar system is a firm move by Zhejiang to assert its authority over littoral and deep-water fishing operations. Once completed, it will stand out as one of China’s biggest coastal radar chains and will join as a key asset in China’s huge “21st Century Maritime Silk Road” infrastructure program.
